Valheim Kall Fimbulbringer, the 1.0 finale

Three Malicious Blood at the Aesir Passage, then a multi-phase jotunn in The Prison.

How to Beat Kall Fimbulbringer

Kall Fimbulbringer is Valheim’s eighth Forsaken and the boss 1.0 was built to land. He lives in the Deep North, behind the Aesir Passage, in a dungeon players are calling The Prison. You do not stumble into him with a karve and a wish. You finish Fader, craft Nord Bloodgold gear, run Winding Tunnels and Mörkhalla, stop Jotun invasions, and offer three Malicious Blood at a Strange Bowl the game never labels for you.

This page is the summon chain and the fight as launch reports describe them on 9–10 September 2026. The shorter bosses list still covers Eikthyr through Fader. Read biome order if you are not supposed to be in the snow yet.

Gear gate before you hunt Vegvisirs

Beat Fader in the Ashlands. Bring Deep North armor, a Bloodgold weapon you actually upgraded, frost resist until the set covers you, and a grappling hook. Mountain wool is not enough. A longship and a shoveled dock beat a heroic swim. Iron Gate still wants a new 1.0 world so the north generates; old explored ice stays empty.

Food is three slots of Deep North plates, not Meadows meat. Sit for Rested in a hall with comfort, not in a snowdrift. Put a portal on rock outside the Passage, not on the offering bowl.

Intricate Keys and Mörkhalla

Village ruins hide Winding Tunnels under two-story houses. Inside you find moulds (including Intricate Key moulds) and Frostcores. Combine a mould with Bloodgold at the Black Forge to make a cast, then finish the Intricate Key in the Frost Foundry with Liquid Frost from the Frigid Kiln. That is the same Bloodgold chain as Nord weapons: Gammeltroll petrifies, Ember Charges, Petrified Tissue, Blast Furnace.

Gates of Mörkhalla are the locked endgame dungeon. Keys open those doors. At the bottom you break Malicious Ice. Breaking it starts a Jotun invasion somewhere else in the world — a standing event, not a five-minute raid. Travel to the marked chaos (Hexen, Krigen, Elakings, falling ice) and destroy the ice heart to receive Malicious Blood. You need three. That usually means three Mörkhalla loops, three invasions, three bowls of blood. Take the grappling hook or you will hate the climb out.

Opening the Aesir Passage

Find a Deep North Vegvisir to stamp the Aesir Passage on the map, the same way every earlier boss works. At the Passage, equip Malicious Blood and interact with the Strange Bowl. Offer three. The ritual opens the way into The Prison. Valheim does not pop a quest text that says “use Malicious Blood”; if the bowl does nothing, you are holding the wrong item.

Walk in as a group if you can. Multiplayer caps at ten. Assign a tank, a corpse-runner, and someone who stays at the outside portal. Solo is possible and ugly.

The fight, as launch reports have it

Kall is a chained frost jotunn. He breaks the pillars when you close in and starts swinging the chains. Stay close enough to punish, far enough that a slam does not pin you to a wall. Launch-day reports disagree on the exact phase count, but they agree on this: it is not a bigger Eikthyr.

Sportskeeda’s first clears describe two phases — chip him down until a transformation, then finish the second form. Mein-MMO’s first clears describe three phases: Kall, a freeze where previous Forsaken appear in the arena, then Kall again. Treat the middle as a wipe check. If old bosses spawn, kill adds before you greed the jotunn. If they do not spawn in your world, you still have a giant who shakes the camera hard enough that some testers could not move even in god from the console. That is a warning, not a suggestion to cheat; cheats void 1.0 achievements.

Fire helps. Pure frost swords do not. Bloodgold Nord weapons with Frostfire or Thunderblood infusions (essences from memorial altars that cost Memorial Coal from Mörkhalla) are the 1.0 toys for this room. Bring stamina food, meads, and a plan to reset. A shoveled, flattened floor from the building kit is worth more than a pretty throne.

Drops, ending, what to do after

Kall drops Sacrificial Blood and a Crown Jewel toward the Crown of Valheim. Hang what the stones will take. Take Sacrificial Blood back to the spawn circle “where it started.” Launch cinematics then play: Hugin and Munin, a Valkyrie, Valhalla if you talk to her. The world does not delete itself. You can still farm Gammeltrolls, finish build pieces, and sail.

He does not grant a classic five-minute Forsaken power on Q the way Eikthyr does. The reward is the saga close plus the crown materials. If you wipe, eat, sit, repair, and do not run back naked through a Jotun event. For the rest of the frozen loop — moose, seals, Ember Charges, snow shovels — stay on Deep North. For the other seven heads, stay on Bosses.
